China and Iran Ready to Increase Military Cooperation

Photo: China Morning Post – China and Iran are reported to be continuing to enhance their military cooperation between the two countries. China also claims that the relationship between them is getting better.

Reporting from Sputnik, Saturday (08/09/2018), This was conveyed by Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe when meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Amir Hatami.

“Relations between the Chinese and Iranian armed forces are developing positively,” Wei said.

China also hopes that with a strategic partnership with Iran it can develop a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

“Beijing is ready to strengthen strategic communication with Tehran, expand the scope of cooperation, achieve the results of new cooperation between the two armies and thus contribute to the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership from the two countries,” he said.

The Chinese Defense Minister stressed that in recent years, Beijing and Tehran have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in various fields. Both provide mutual support and show mutual understanding of issues of primary concern.

Hatami, for his part, said that Iran attaches great importance to relations with China and to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. Iran is very appreciative of the important role played by China in maintaining international and regional peace and stability.
