atynews.com – United States defense contractor, Lockheed Martin is reported to have issued new ideas to create the latest hybrid fighter jet for the Air Force.

Reporting from Defense One, Saturday (01/09/2018), This was expressed by David Deptula, a retired Lieutenant General in the US Air Force.

“You are building a hybrid aircraft,” said David Deptula.

The aircraft offered are aircraft with the body of the F-22 Raptor and the brain of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).

“It’s not an F-22. It’s not an F-35. It’s a combination of both. It can be done far, far faster than introducing a new design,” said Deptula.

However, David’s unconfirmed statement from Lockheed Martin in this case as a defense contractor who developed F-22 and F-35 fighters.

For now, Lookheed Martin is still developing F-35 fighter planes to fulfill several orders from overseas and the US air force.

Nevertheless, this Lockheed Martin idea could kill the market for the F-35, a fighter jet that is proud of being the most expensive weapon system in history.

Just to note, F-22 development began in the 1980s, when computer systems took up more space. The sophistication of the computer system did not stop Lockheed Martin engineers from building the 45-foot twin-engine fighter jet.
