Reporting from the Washington Post, Saturday (08/25/2018), it was ascertained by the Chief of the US Navy Operations, Admiral John Richardson in his press statement.

The fleet will intensify its focus on the North Atlantic Ocean where the Russian military operates at a speed never seen before since the end of the Cold War.

He said, Reviving this fleet is certainly not to seek war. “We are not looking for war,” he said.

“But the best way to avoid war is to develop the Navy’s most powerful and deadly and competitive,” he added.

Changes occur in most organizations. The Second Fleet revived the Admiral’s command dedicated to supervising American warships as they held patrols between the US East Coast and the Barents Sea, off the coast of Norway and Russia.

The revival of the Second Fleet also reflected more changes in US military strategy. The main concern of the US is shifting from terrorism in the Middle East to increasing competition with Russia and China.
