Russian Military Will Receive Armata Tank This Year

Photo: TASS – The Russian military is reported to soon receive 132 units of Armata Tanks starting this year until 2021.

Reporting from TASS, Thursday (08/23/2018), It was announced by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia, Alexei Krivoruchko after signing a contract with the Uralvagonzavod Contractor (UVZ).

Delivery of 132 T-14 main battle tanks (MBT) and T-15 infantry fighting (IFV) vehicles built on standard Armata combat platforms.

“Today, the contract has been signed for 132 T-14 tank units and T-15 vehicles. We will get the first nine units this year, “he said.

The T-14 tank was built based on the Armata platform, publicly displayed for the first time at the Victory Day parade at Red Square on May 9, 2015. The new combat vehicle has fully digital equipment, an unmanned tower and an isolated armored capsule for the crew.

According to information from the ministry, this tank can destroy US-made battle tanks in just one shot.

UralVagonZavod (UVZ) as a producer of battle tanks is reported to have carried out a firing test of the T-14 Armata main battle tank at the test location in the city of Nizhny Tagil.
