atynews.com – The UN Human Rights Council has strongly condemned the killings of Israeli soldiers in Gaza during the Palestinian rally in the region.
Reporting from the Times Off Israel, Tuesday (24/7/2018), it was delivered by the head of the UN Human Rights Council, Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein in a press statement.
In addition to condemning the action, he also said it was very important to immediately address the root causes of the demonstrations in the Gaza Strip.
The demonstrations in Gaza have killed more than 100 Palestinians, including 17 children, and injured more than 4,100.
Zeid said that the situation in Gaza had increased dramatically in recent months with the potential to produce threats to peace.
He also called for an independent international inquiry commission to be able to thoroughly investigate the incident.
The investigation was endorsed by the Geneva-based Human Rights Council on May 18 to increase accountability for murder and violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.
