Quoted from Reuters, Saturday (21/07/2018), NASA is currently reported to be preparing for delivery of the plane in space.

Later this NASA spacecraft will observe the corona of the Sun from a super close distance.

The launch of a spacecraft robot named Parker Solar Probe is scheduled to be delivered from Cape Canaveral in Florida, USA on August 6, which will air for its 7-year mission in space.

Later, the spacecraft will fly up to close the Sun corona 3.8 million miles in distance or 6.1 million kilometers from the surface of the Sun. That distance is seven times closer than other spacecraft carrying out similar missions.

Nicola Fox, a scientist involved in this project said that this mission is an ambitious mission where its location has never been visited by anyone in the world.

“To send an out-of-range plane to a location that has never been visited before is ambitious,” he said.

The previous record was held by a spacecraft named Helios 2, which in 1976 managed to fly close to the Sun in a distance of 27 million miles or 43 million kilometers. For comparison, the average distance of the Sun with the Earth is 93 million miles or 150 million kilometers.
