Najib Razak Allegedly Asks CIA Assistance Wins Malaysian Election

Najib Razak. Photo: AFP – Former Prime Minister (PM) of Malaysia, Najib Razak allegedly asked for help CIA United States (US) to win the election of Malaysia some time ago.

Reported from The Star, Friday (20/7/2018), The report was based on a letter allegedly sent by the Office of Foreign Secrets of Malaysia (MEIO) to the CIA.

Najib Razak in his claim says he does not know the origin of the letter. He said he never ordered to send him when he was still in office.

The letter was addressed to CIA Director Gina Haspel and asked for US intelligence support to win Najib five days ahead of the 2018 election.

The General Director of the Malaysian External Intelligence Organization, Hasanah Ab Hamid, said in the letter that Najib’s opponent, Mahathir Mohamad in the election was “anti-Western, antisemit” and so on.

“It was during his rule that the Internal Security Act (ISA) was abused for his personal political agenda and allowed him to rule Malaysia for more than two decades.”

Through the letter it is said that very important US support in the current Malaysian government.

Until now it is not clear about the authenticity of the letter. The department set up in the era of Najib’s rule and stationed at the prime minister’s office included police targets after Mahathir Mohamad’s victory.

In May, police searched the residence of one of the MEIO officials after allegedly receiving secret documents from Najib two days before the election.
