atynews.com – Heat waves have reportedly hit Japan. Because of this incident, at least 14 people have been reported killed by local officials.

Quoted by Reuters on Tuesday (07/17/2018), this extreme weather hit Japan shortly after the devastating floods hit the country and killed more than 200 people.

Reports from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said that the temperature of heat in Japan yesterday reached 39 degrees Celsius and predicted will continue to rise.

Increasing death toll due to hot weather occurs while high humidity levels cause dangerous conditions.

Of the 14 victims killed by heat waves, one was a woman in her 90s who was found unconscious in a field. Thousands more were hospitalized for being affected by hot temperatures.

The strongest heat wave is felt by residents in Gifu Prefecture, especially in Ibigawa City, whose temperature reaches 39.3 degrees Celsius. In Tokyo, temperatures reached 34 degrees Celsius on Monday.
