Killed Save 12 Teenagers, Ex-Davy Navy SEAL Rank

Saman Gunan (Supplied/Sydney Morning Herald) – Saman Gunan, a former Thai Navy SEAL diver who was killed during a rescue operation of 12 teenagers suspected in the Thai Cave reportedly will be granted promotion.

Quoted from The Nation, Tuesday (17/7/2018), the promotion was given by the King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn.

Known the rank of Saman Gunan who was ‘Petty Officer First Class’ or equivalent Sergeant II raised to ‘Liutenant Commander’ or equivalent Major Laut.

The announcement of a special promotion for the late Saman Gunan was announced through the Royal Thai journal Royal Gazette on Saturday.

As reported earlier, Gunan died on July 6 while channeling oxygen cylinders into the Tham Luang cave before the 12-adolescent rescue operation.

Gunan’s sacrifice was not in vain. 12 teenagers and one trainer trapped in the Cave were rescued and are now getting better in the hospital.

The announcement from the Royal Thai party states that Saman Gunan deserves special promotion because he has shown remarkable behavior and dedicates his life to save others. This excellent behavior is witnessed by the public and even the international community.
