Germany Responds When President Trump calls EU the US Enemy

Quoted from Reuters on Monday (16/07/2018), this statement came out of the German Foreign Minister, Heiko Mass in a press release to the media.

This is a response to Trump’s statement that calls the European Union (EU) the “enemy” of the United States (US) in terms of trade.

He also added that While it can no longer completely depend on the White House, Germany will maintain its partnership with the United States.

“We can no longer completely rely on the White House to maintain our partnership with the United States, we have to adjust it.The first obvious consequence is that we (Europe) need to close the ranks,” Maas said.

“Europe should not allow itself to be divided by a very sharp and absurd verbal attack from a possible tweet,” he continued.

Reported earlier, Donald Trump when asked who is the biggest enemy of the US globally in an interview aired on CBS’s “Face the Nation” program on Sunday, the EU Trump is the biggest enemy of the United States.
