atynews.com – 12 Russian intelligence officers accused of hacking the Democratic Party’s computer network in the United States (US) elections in 2015.

Reported from Reuters on Saturday (14/07/2018), the allegations appear in a trial in US Federal courts.

The news of Russia’s involvement in the 2015 US election is no longer new. US intelligence accuses Moscow of taking part in winning Donald Trump out as the winner.

The alleged hacking was filed by the US Attorney General’s Office in the indictment, read out Friday. Those charged were GRU officers, the Russian military intelligence agency.

The allegations have the potential to affect the planned meeting of President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to take place in Hesinki in a few days.

According to the indictment document, the secretly hacked computer network was the computer network of Hillary Clinton’s Democratic Party presidential campaign team and Democratic Party Committee. The hackers steal large amounts of data.

“In addition to releasing documents directly to the public, the defendants transferred documents stolen to other organizations, not mentioned in the indictment, and discussed the time of document release in an effort to increase the impact on the (presidential) election,” US Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said.
