atynews.com – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has reportedly made a visit to Russia from July 13-16.
During this visit, the main agenda was Middle East peace talks with Israel.
Quoted from TASS, Saturday (14/07/2018), Abbas will be discussed with Russian president, Vladimir Puting about peace.
This was revealed by the Palestinian Ambassador to Russia Abdel Hafiz Nofal on Thursday (12/7).
“Abbas plans to discuss with Putin on key issues related to restarting the Middle East peace process, taking into account a summit between the presidents of Russia and the United States (US), Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, in Helsinki (Finland),” he said.
“The Palestinian and Russian presidents will also talk about US proposals (for Middle East peace) and our relationship with Israel,” he added.
Talks between Abbas and Putin are expected to focus on creating a new multilateral mechanism to resolve the Middle East crisis, including the Palestinian conflict with Israel. The mechanism is expected to involve the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, Russia, the United States, Britain, France and China.
