atynews.com – Israeli soldiers in Golan have reportedly attacked a Syrian military post in the area after a mortar landed there.
Quoted from Anadolu, Saturday (7/7/2018), It was confirmed by the Israeli soldiers in a press release to the media.
As is known, the Israeli military controlled the Golan highlands. The military has also added troops in the region.
“The army is targeting a Syrian military post from which a bullet is fired into a buffer zone (separating the Golan Heights from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights),” the army said.
“The (Israeli) army is not involved in internal fighting in Syria,” the statement said.
“But it will continue to comply with the 1974 Separation Agreement, which allows for the maintenance of buffer zones,” he added.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad intends to reclaim the entire southwest region including the border with the Golan Heights occupied by Israel and Jordan. This area is one of the last rebel strongholds in Syria after more than seven years of war.
