Sarah Sanders: US Not Acknowledge Crimea Part of Russia

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. – United States (US) says that they do not recognize the Crimea is part of Russia through the process of annexation.

Reported by The Hill, Tuesday (3/7/2018), This was conveyed by White House Spokesman, Sarah Huckabee Sanders in a statement to the media.

“We do not recognize Russia’s efforts to annex the Crimea,” he said.

“We agree to disagree with Russia ahead of it and our Crimean sanctions against Russia will remain in force until Russia returns the peninsula to Ukraine,” Sanders said.

Crimean independence referendum of Ukraine itself occurred in 2014 ago.

This certainly makes a lot of speculation considering the meeting between the two heads of state of the United States and Russia will soon happen.

The Trump-Putin meeting in Helsinki on July 16 also will not discuss the issue of Crimea as part of Russia.

Earlier on Monday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov ruled out possible Crimean negotiations in the Trump and Putin meetings.

“The status of the peninsula (Crimea) can not and will not be on the agenda as it is an integral part of Russia,” he said.
